Valse Triste are one of the oldest hardcorepunk bands in Finland, and at the same time one of the weirdest. You really can't compare them to anyone else, you need to hear them yourself. Which is easier said than done, because their many records are a bit hard to find. The only records available at this moment are the CD compilation of eps that Six Weeks put out, "Turha Ruokkia Ruumiita" CD, and the split-7" with Deep Turtle (compilation available for 6 e and the last two ones available for 5 euros each postpaid from Popo's Bistro, Niemistöntie 55, 60420 Seinäjoki, Finland).

Valse Triste's gigs are something you won't easily forget. You never know what's going to happen. On a darker side, a "good" example is a gig some two years ago, when an unknown audience member jumped on Wasky, the other singer, causing the latter's neck to break. It is still a bit uncertain, but the incident will probably leave the singer partially paralyzed. Despite this, the band has kept on playing live, but after this tour they won't be able to play gigs outside Finland for a long time due to the many activities of the members, so catch 'em while you can.
