This page introduces Finnish stationary and steam engines

All engines presented on this site are in my personal collection. Many of these
engines are very rare. Production numbers of some motors have been as low as
only a few dozens. The most usual motors in Finland have been
BMW (Bjöneborg Mekaniska Verkstaden) and Wikström,
production numers having been higher than 15000.

This is a very rare "Monark" motor of the Kokkola motorfabrik, manufactured around
the year 1918. Only about 200 motors of this kind have been made.

Here are two Mathildedal's steam engines. The locobile has been manufactured in 1921.
It is in an "as it was found" condition, and it works! The stationary model has been
manufactured in 1908. Its model name is "Paras-apu" (meaning "best help").
Steam engines

This one is a BV motor. BV stands for Bröders Vilen (the "Vilen Brothers").
The production number of this engine is 21. Since the factory started
manufacture of motors in 1905, I think this motor must have been
manufactured before the year 1910. I am the second owner of this motor.

This motor has been manufactured in John Stenberg's motor factory. Stenberg
was the first motor manufacturer in Finland. His factory started manufacturing
motors in 1895, and the manufacturing ended in the 1920s. Over the years,
about 100 motors were made. This one was manufactured around 1915. It is
probably the only one of this kind left.
