Morphological analysis of microstructures

High resolution 3D imaging devices, such as the u-CT, provide detailed morphological information regarding 3D structures of materials. Their capability in revealing submicrometer level details of objects make these devices very attractive for material engineering and medical studies. In addition to this, availability of low cost solutions in the market make it common to obtain a u-CT device for many research groups around the world. These create a growing demand for analyzing microstructures of materials and tissues with effective image processing techniques.
